When you create an account for myStop®, and enable text notifications, you can begin setting up recurring alerts for the stops you use often. This takes the guesswork out for you, and your phone automatically notifies you when it's time to travel! Let's go!
How it Works:
- Each stop has a name and a unique ID.
- For example, the E College Ave at Puddintown Rd stop is Stop Id #170.
- Each agency also has a unique shortcode.
- The shortcode is used by a software directory (321123) and identifies which agency you use when setting up your stop departure alerts.
Setting up a stop departure alert
- Open the myStop® app on your phone and press the menu button
in the top left:
- Then use the Stops Menu to select the stop you need.
- Enter a stop name or its ID #:
- The app will display all depart times, so you can pick what you need:
- Press the bell icon to set up the alert. By default, myStop® suggests a 10-minute alert time default alert time.
- To adjust the alert time, use the time picker to choose your preferred time.
- After entering your phone number, press Add Notification. Then you'll see a confirmation message:
- Your alert will be displayed on your phone before the bus arrives. Just grab your stuff and go!
